“Congratulations to all the karters who have earned their place in the inaugural 2018 Cooper Tires Karting Scholarship Shoot-out,” said Chris Pantani, Director of Motorsports for Cooper Tire. “Seeing karters as young as 13 years old competing at this level is amazing. The Lucas Oil School of Racing has created this program to educate and guide the future of racing, and we are excited to watch these young drivers, including those who progress to the Road to Indy development series in the coming years.”

“We can’t thank Chris Pantani and Cooper Tire enough for their support of the Shoot-out, and all they do for up-and-coming racers,” said Lucas Oil School of Racing Founder and CEO Neil Enerson. “We are extremely happy with the group of karters we have coming to our first shoot-out. They represent a cross-section of national and regional level karting from around the country, and we’re looking forward to seeing what they can do.”

Karters will participate in three days of on- and off-track activities in Lucas Oil School of Racing’s fleet of Ray GR-RSC race cars, and training to determine who is the best of the best, with seat time in Lucas Oil School of Racing programs up for grabs. The grand prize is a fully funded season in the 2019 Lucas Oil Formula Car Championship, valued at $75,000, and prizes will be awarded down to fifth place.
