The Lucas Oil School of Racing is now accepting applications for the next round of the Pippa Mann Scholarship for female racers looking to move up into road racing.
Open to girls and young women from the worlds of karting and other motorsports disciplines, drivers selected for the Pippa Mann Scholarship will be offered a seat in either a Lucas Oil School of Racing Basic 2-Day or 2-Day Advanced Lapping program, based on their experience. During their program, they will work with Mann and Lucas Oil School of Racing instructors. When a driver is recognized as having the potential to succeed with further instruction and seat time, next step(s) will be made available within the program.
“I’m thrilled with the success we saw with our first round of racers coming through this scholarship, and we’re definitely hoping some of the first wave of racers might be coming back to join us for race events with the Lucas Oil School of Racing later in the season”, noted Pippa Mann. “I’m incredibly grateful to Neil Enerson for deciding to continue with this program, and I’m looking forwards to seeing the resumes we receive this time around and meeting another wave of the next generation of female racers.”

About Pippa Mann
After racing in karts and open wheel cars in her native England and Europe, Pippa Mann moved to the U.S. in 2009 to compete in Indy Lights. Mann was the first woman in any category to earn a pole position at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Indy Lights, 2010) and became one of two female Indy Lights race winners in the category’s history at Kentucky later the same year. She made her Verizon IndyCar Series debut at the 2011 Indianapolis 500, and has competed in every 500 since 2013 with a best finish of 17th. Mann also became the first female athlete at IMS to ever record a 230mph average lap, which she achieved on Fast Friday in 2017. This May she is attempting to qualifying for her seventh Indianapolis 500.
