Two eight-hour days of instruction combined with 5 hours of on-track time get you acclimated with the art and science of driving a modern race car. Plus you’ll go home with a complementary SD card with in-car video from your on-track sessions (not guaranteed). Successful completion of our Basic Racing School program qualifies you for our Advanced Racing School as well as an SCCA Novice Permit plus One Event credit towards your Full SCCA Competition License.
Note: this event is not eligible for transfer from our November or December schools.

Arrival
- Please arrive at 8:00am on the first morning of the program
- Report to hospitality for check-in & to sign all necessary paperwork (waiver & crash damage policy)
- After checking in, enjoy the continental breakfast and get to know your fellow drivers until the drivers meeting
Equipment
We provide suits & helmets, however if you choose to bring your own gear, please adhere to the following guidelines:
- Racing suits must be fireproof; we highly recommend multi-layers with nomex or underwear
- No motorcycle or open face helmets
- Helmets must be Snell SA 2010 or newer
- Use of HANS device HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
- We do not provide HANS devices and our helmets are not HANS compatible
- If you don’t own racing shoes, wrestling shoes or narrow sneakers are a close substitute
- Leather gloves or mechanic’s gloves are acceptable if you don’t own racing gloves
Hospitality
- Continental breakfast, lunch, snacks & drinks are provided throughout the event (lunch is for one driver and ONE guest)
- Parents, family, and friends are all welcome to attend and are encouraged to sit in on classroom lectures if desired
How You Can Prepare
- BASIC CLASS ONLY – If you do not have any experience with a clutch, no need to worry, that is what our very first drill is designed to teach! And you only need the clutch for getting the car started out of pit lane. Once on track, you’ll use the paddle shifters to select gearing.
- If you are participating in Advanced Lapping, bring a personal laptop or USB 3.0 stick/drive if you wish to take your data
- Check the local weather forecast. We race rain or shine, hot or cold, so plan accordingly
